Welcome Address

"A single pace can discourage capable students, especially those who are not used to linear thinking. It can widen gaps and reward only those who fit a narrow mold."

Angelo A. Jimenez
UP President

In President Jimenez's Welcome Address, he zeroed in on our shared responsibility and commitment to harness technology in order to create a future of education that is technologically-advanced, personalized, equitable, and deeply human.

Introduction to AUN-TEPL

The Introduction to AUN-TEPL was led by Lieven Demeester and Tamas Makany. Demeester emphasized that the rise of new AI capabilities makes the potential for personalized learning greater than ever, making the network's collaborative role more important. Makany, on the other hand, sees new AI tools as transformative, opening entirely new possibilities for personalized learning. He emphasizes that achieving this vision requires bold experimentation, shared insights, and deepened collaborations among all members.

Launch of the AUN-TEPL Online Course Exchange Initiative

The AUN-TEPL network officially launched an Online Course Exchange initiative to create a more connected and high-quality educational community across the region, allowing students to access and receive credit for courses from member universities. This reimagines education through online course exchange, which fosters collaboration across ASEAN countries.

Keynote Presentation

Generative AI is now a permanent fixture in education, demanding our constructive engagement. While it holds immense promise for reshaping learning, significant caveats remain regarding reliability, assessment, and future-ready skills. We must transition to robust research to understand the long-term implications. A key application is learning support, where evidence shows AI-powered feedback can have a similar learning impact as human feedback. This is not about replacing educators, but about harnessing AI's potential to enhance teaching practice and empower human learning in this new age.

Keynote Presentation

Session 1: Impact of TEPL on Students

In this session, Asst. Prof. Juraidah Musa explores the power of technology-enhanced personalized learning. Moving beyond the "one-size-fits-all" model, she demonstrates how to tailor education to individual paces and styles using a blended approach. Learn how guided, personalized pathways create more engaging, effective, and meaningful educational experiences for every learner.

This panel discussion brings together experts from Southeast Asia to reveal how digital tools are creating flexible, student-centered education. Discover how Learning Management Systems, AI, and interactive platforms provide tailored learning paths and instant feedback. Whether you're an educator or administrator, this session offers valuable insights into making education more accessible, relevant, and effective for the modern learner.

Closing Remarks

Closing Remarks

Chancellor Vistan II concludes the symposium with a powerful reflection on technology and learning. While we celebrate the insights from students on personalized learning tools, a crucial challenge remains: finding the right balance. As we move forward, our collaborative efforts must focus on harnessing technology to support, not weaken, the development of genuine human talent and intellect in future generations.
